Yes, it all started on February 25, 1988 when Wild Bill and Janae Cooksey drew each other as pictured in the official Laughlin Gambler news photo below according to Publisher, Michael Sunderman. The uniqueness of this picture is that Janae is standing on the Arizona side of the Laughlin bridge over the Colorado River, while hubby, Wild Bill, is standing on the Nevada side of the bridge. You can clearly see the vertical line separating the states in the concrete on the railing of the bridge and in the background you can see Don Laughlin's Famous Riverside Hotel and Casino where Wild Bill and Janae were performing. This was the day of the official announcement that the World's Longest Cartoon will be completed by December 31, 2005 and The Cookseys will have drawn literally tens of thousands of faces by that day and are requesting all owners of other Cooksey artwork return to Las Vegas with their individual pictures in 2005 to be eligible to win a double grand prize of up to $100,000.00 if their name is selected in the big drawing of animated faces registered by email with the Cookseys for one tenth of the amount the World's Longest Cartoon brings in the Ebay Auction, plus many other prizes and percs. All those who attend the big week long event in 2005 will have also have a chance to appear in a TV movie documentary about The Cookseys and their Quest to complete the World's Longest Cartoon.
