IN HONOR OF OUR BRAVE TROOPS WHO DEFEND AND KEEP OUR WONDERFUL NATION FREE AND PROTECTED, I WRITE THIS OPEN LETTER TO ALL USA CITIZENS WHO LOVE THIS LAND IN WHICH WE LIVE BY THE GRACE OF GOD!
DEAR FELLOW AMERICAN,
Back in the Eighties when I was working many of the Vegas Hotel lounge shows, I had the pleasure of performing alongside some of the world's most famous entertainers. One guy I shared the stage with especially stood out in my mind because of his fantastic voice, musicianship and songwriting talents. His name was Lee Greenwood and most folks know him for penning the classic, "God Bless The USA". For years I also wrote a lot of motivating songs, but the one I talk about on this page I feel is perhaps my best since the message in the song can help to make our country a better place to live.
More than ever we all need to stand strong together united in our efforts to trust in God to help us overcome the terror, fear and anger that has hit this country since September 11, 2001. One of the best ways to do this is to stand united behind the leader that the Lord has chosen for an hour such as this.
The lyrics below are to a song that I completed on September 12 and had the honor of singing on talk radio stations in large cities like Washington, D.C. and Dallas, Texas only days after the terrible tragedy.
The Bible clearly tells us that God selects those who are put in positions of authority and that we are to pray for those who are in charge.
My hope is that the song will encourage most Americans to pray for our President during these troubled days in our country? The battles have really only begun and much prayer is indeed needed for the President and all of our leaders who have a part in directing the actions of our nation's brave military in the days ahead.
If you will be kind enough to read the lyrics to my original "Say A Prayer For Our George" song, I am sure you will see how this 3/4 tempo melody sung with feeling can help to unify and strengthen the support our country needs as we follow the leadership of our President in the days ahead.
